OBJECTIVE Objective
We develop core technologies for modular hyperscale AI infrastructure
that integrates marine small modular reactors (SMRs), offshore platforms,
and subsea data centers, and realize the intelligent autonomous operation
of the integrated system with digital twin, physical AI, and unmanned underwater vehicles.
Through these efforts, we provide a new model for national AI and marine convergence infrastructure.
INTRODUCTION Director's Message
Hello, I am Daegyoum Kim, director of the POSEIDON Center.
Our center aims to establish a new standard for next-generation data center
infrastructure by integrating nuclear, ocean, mechanical, and AI technologies into
a large-scale complex system.
Based on extensive fluid mechanics research
across various areas in engineering, I have worked to build a research environment
that advances multidisciplinary talent development.
I will strive to make the POSEIDON Center a hub that realizes future marine digital infrastructure,
by connecting the full energy lifecycle of marine SMRs, offshore platforms,
and subsea data centers through intelligent autonomous operation based on
digital twin and physical AI, and fosters the next generation of convergence leaders.
IMPACT Impact
Through the technology standardization and commercialization of the integrated system,
we expect to develop an exportable model of power-autonomous AI-marine convergence infrastructure,
contributing to the digital transformation of shipbuilding and offshore industries
and the formation of the new industry ecosystem.
TALENT Ideal Talent
Researchers with “interdisciplinary competence” spanning nuclear, ocean,
mechanical engineering, and AI, “system integration capability” connecting
high-fidelity modeling, digital twin, and physical AI, and “responsibility and leadership”
to independently plan and conduct research through global multi-mentoring
