AI-Nano Convergence Institute for Early Detection of Neurodegenerative Diseases
KEYWORDKeyword
OBJECTIVE Objectives
We aims to advance human health through the early detection of neurodegenerative diseases by integrating the expertise of Korea’s four leading Institutes of Science and Technology (GIST, KAIST, DGIST, and UNIST) and converging AI with advanced biotechnology and nanotechnology (S&T). The key objectives are as follows:
① Develop core nano-optics–AI platform technologies for high-sensitivity, real-time, and multidimensional analysis of structural and dynamic changes in proteins associated with neurodegenerative diseases
② Significantly improve the accuracy of early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases and establish next-generation precision diagnostic platforms
③ Forster over 50 InnoCORE Fellows as global leaders in AI S&T convergence, thereby strrengthen national scientific competitiveness.
④ Core technologies: development of nanomaterials for detecting protein structural changes, nano-optical devices for protein signal detection, and AI algorithms for analyzing and predicting protein structures and their dynamic transformations
INTRODUCTION Director's Message
Welcome to the GIST AI-ACE InnoCORE Institute
Established as part of the Ministry of Science and ICT’s InnoCORE initiative, our center brings together the world-class expertise and infrastructure of Korea’s four leading Institutes of Science and Technology—GIST, KAIST, DGIST, and UNIST—to serve as a central hub for next-generation convergence research.
As we enter a super-aging society, neurodegenerative diseases have emerged as one of the most pressing challenges facing humanity. In response, our center aims to advance new paradigms in early diagnosis and precision medicine through the convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and nanotechnology.
Driven by the collaborative and interdisciplinary efforts of our distinguished faculty and passionate InnoCORE Fellows, we are committed to delivering impactful research outcomes that contribute to public health and to establishing ourselves as a leading global hub for convergence science.
We sincerely appreciate your continued interest and support.
