Greetings,
I am Kyoung Jin Choi, Director of the InnoCORE AI-Space Solar Initiative.

Space energy represents a convergence of advanced technologies requiring exceptional precision and durability, from material design and device fabrication to validation under extreme environments. AI-SSI is building an advanced research framework that integrates these entire processes into a unified and organic system based on AI.

From AI-driven materials design and the development of flexible space photovoltaics (PV) to rare-earth-free material research, we interconnect each stage through data and computational infrastructure. Through this approach, we aim to overcome the limitations of space energy technologies while significantly improving development efficiency.

Furthermore, we pursue innovation not only in technology but also in research practices. By fostering a structure where researchers proactively define problems and collaborate with multidisciplinary mentors, we systematically cultivate hyper-converged experts equipped with both AI capabilities and space energy expertise.

By integrating the research capabilities and data of Korea’s four Institutes of Science and Technology, we aim to evolve into a global space energy hub supporting 6G satellite communications and the New Space era. We will continue to expand an open collaborative ecosystem, enabling Korea to take a leading role in the era of space energy sovereignty.
